Glencoe Models Kit #05103 - "A Plastic Model Conversion" - Likely Built As A Mercury Redstone

Picked up a Glencoe Models Jupiter C kit from Chris Viscomi. It's an Out Of Production kit, circa 1990.

Plan is to make this into a mid powered rocket, probably with a custom wood turned Mercury Capsule and Escape Tower.

Body nominal diameter is 1-1/2" o.d... so a BT-55 / C-55 should work for an internal support tube. More on that later. 

 

 2026-04-01 My plan is a rear eject: 24mm motor mount utilizing a Pop & Pull Eject.
